Short answer: to the centre the fastest option is the Koleje Małopolskie train to Kraków Główny: 17 min, 20 zł, every 30 minutes, with the last trains after 1:00. Bus 300 runs every 10 minutes but does not reach the station; at night there is bus 902. To Zakopane FlixBus runs direct from the airport (about 2 h 40 min – 2 h 55 min, a few a day, dynamic fares), and Szwagropol buses run from Kraków (37 zł). A private transfer costs €50 to the centre and €160 to Zakopane per car for 1–3 people.
Kraków Airport → city centre (Old Town, main station)
The 17-minute train for 20 zł is the best public transport option. A transfer to your hotel costs €50 per car and takes 25–45 min.

Frequently asked questions
We land in Kraków at 17:00 and are going to Zakopane: 2 adults and 4 children, each with a suitcase. What is the best way?
Six people means a van: €230 per vehicle from the airport to your guesthouse, plus €10 for each child seat. By public transport at that time you would take the train to Kraków and a bus from MDA, changing with six suitcases.
Can we make a short stop on the way from Kraków to Zakopane, for example in Chochołów?
Yes, but a stop on the way is quoted individually by our office and has to be agreed before the ride. Message us on WhatsApp with where you want to stop and for how long.
Is there a discount for a return trip between Kraków and Zakopane?
No. A return on another day is a second transfer at the same price: €160 per car or €230 per van each way. The return discount applies only to routes from Gdańsk and the Tri-city.
