Książ Castle near Wałbrzych is Poland’s third-largest fortress — an imposing residence on a rocky spur, surrounded by terraced gardens. It hides grand halls, a palm house and mysterious tunnels from the Second World War. It is one of the most spectacular sites in Lower Silesia.
The second stop is the Church of Peace in Świdnica — the largest timber-framed Baroque church in Europe, built after the Thirty Years’ War and listed by UNESCO.
